Country Home Design

This project involved the full interior and exterior design of a two-storey family home located in the countryside.

The aim was to create a warm and welcoming environment where children could grow up surrounded by nature, making a strong connection to the outdoors a key priority.

Large windows and abundant natural light help blur the boundary between inside and outside, enhancing the sense of openness.

The design accommodates the practical demands of busy family life, with social spaces that encourage connection and flexibility, balanced by quieter areas that provide retreat and calm for both adults and children.

A traditional layout grounds the home, while layers of character and subtle detailing bring individuality and charm. Together, these elements establish a family home that is functional, cosy and inviting.

Living Room Renovation

This project involved the renovation of a client’s second living space, with the aim of creating a comfortable and cohesive environment that integrates seamlessly with the rest of the home. Originally a bedroom, the space was reconfigured by removing the wardrobe, which not only increased the usable area but also allowed for new storage solutions tailored to the client’s needs. A combination of open shelving and cabinets was introduced, providing flexibility to display personal items while also offering concealed storage to reduce clutter. The design concept centred on a palette of neutral tones with navy blue accents, creating visual harmony with the rest of the home. Wainscoting and wall-mounted lighting reference the history of the house, adding subtle detailing that enhances charm and cosiness. The result is a second living space that feels functional, inviting, and well-connected to the character of the home.

Matangi House Renoavtion

This project involved the reconfiguration of a client’s kitchen, kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry but focused on the bathroom and laundry design.

The aim was to honour the 1970s character of the home while introducing a modern, contemporary feel.

The design concept centred on natural tones and shades of green, including a green feature tile used across both the bathroom and laundry.

The laundry was designed to feel bright and inviting, with a contemporary layout that incorporates much-needed storage. Green splashback tiles and wall panelling provide detail and character while the floor tiles reference the home’s original 1970s features.

In contrast, the bathroom adopts a more relaxing, warmer atmosphere. The green tile throughout the shower adds a pop of colour, and the timber vanity connects back to the home’s existing wooden elements. A botanical feature tile adds a subtle link to the surrounding natural environment, ensuring a balance between character, functionality, and contemporary style.

Greenhill Park New Build

This project involved designing a small new-build home in Greenhill Park, with the goal of creating a space that feels both characterful and welcoming while maximising natural light and connection to the outdoors.

The design concept centered on organic tones of green, soft neutrals, and natural textures to evoke calmness and warmth.

An open-plan kitchen and living area flows seamlessly to the outdoor deck, offering a layout ideal for entertaining. A black and white checkerboard tile floor anchors the space, while wainscoting and wallpaper add subtle detailing without overwhelming the design.

In the lounge, a large rug defines the seating zone, complemented by classic furnishings and a feature fireplace.

This design concept extends into the bathroom, ensuring cohesion throughout the home.

Overall, the design balances contemporary simplicity with timeless character, enhancing the sense of space and homeliness.

Eco-Friendly Beauty Clinic

A calm, nature-inspired beauty clinic designed around the principles of sustainability, natural materials and wellbeing. Located on Collingwood Street, the space combines thoughtful functionality with an organic, contemporary aesthetic to create a welcoming environment for both clients and staff.

Natural stone, warm timber panelling and carefully selected eco-friendly materials bring texture and warmth throughout the clinic, while abundant natural light enhances the connection to the outdoors. A living plant wall adds a fresh, biophilic element to the space, creating a sense of calm and bringing nature further into the interior.

Every element was considered to create a space that feels grounded, timeless, and inviting, proving that sustainable design can be both beautiful and highly functional.

Hamilton City Library Design

The third floor of Hamilton City Library has been thoughtfully reimagined to create welcoming, flexible spaces that support a variety of ways to study, work, connect, and recharge.
The central breakout area combines circular lounge seating with both standard and bar-height tables, providing versatile options for individual study, collaboration, and casual use. Desks have been positioned along the north-facing wall to maximise natural light, creating a bright and inviting environment for focused work. Carefully considered partitions provide a sense of privacy while maintaining an open and connected feel throughout the space.
The reception area has also been redesigned to create a more welcoming and accessible arrival experience. Relocating the reception desk closer to the entry points makes assistance easier to find, while improving the overall flow and functionality of the space.
The result is a modern, adaptable library environment that balances functionality, comfort, and accessibility for a diverse range of users.

Biophilic Commercial Office Design

Inspired by the natural beauty of the Waikato River and surrounding landscape, this commercial office redesign brings the principles of biophilic design into the workplace. Natural materials, earthy tones, organic textures, and greenery create a calming and restorative environment that supports wellbeing, productivity, and connection to nature.

The design reimagines the existing office to create clear, functional zones for both client-facing and administrative activities, improving privacy, accessibility, storage, and day-to-day functionality. With a focus on the open-plan office space and client meeting rooms, the aim was to create an environment that feels welcoming, connected, and considered, while supporting collaboration, focus, and meaningful client interactions.

With a focus on acoustic comfort, durable materials, flexible furniture, and thoughtful spatial planning, the design balances practicality with a warm, contemporary aesthetic. The result is a professional yet nurturing environment that reflects the organisation’s values while prioritising the wellbeing of both staff and clients.

Laundry Design

Clever storage, considered finishes, and a layout designed around real life, because good design isn’t just about how a space looks; it’s about how it works.

This laundry has been given a simple yet beautiful refresh, transforming it into a space that feels brighter, more functional, and far more considered.

Switching to a front-loading washer and dryer allowed us to introduce a gorgeous timber benchtop, creating a practical workspace while bringing warmth and natural texture into the room. New cabinetry and a laundry sink provide much-needed storage and functionality, while the deep green tiles add colour, character and contrast.

To finish the space, crisp white paint helps brighten the room and make the most of the limited natural light.

Linen Cupboard Design

Sometimes, it’s the simplest changes that can completely transform a space. This linen cupboard was given a fresh new look with practical storage and a playful touch of colour.

The existing shelving was replaced with new wire shelving, creating a cleaner, more organised layout and making it easier to store and access everyday essentials.

To bring some personality into the space, we introduced a blue striped paint design, adding a fun pop of colour while keeping the overall look fresh and timeless.

Powder Room Design

Soft botanical details, classic wall panelling and a fresh neutral palette come together to create a powder room that feels timeless, pretty and just a little unexpected.

For this character home, the goal was to create a space that felt fresh and updated while still celebrating the charm and character of the original home. Classic wall panelling adds depth and ties beautifully into the existing character throughout the house, while new floor tiles give the space a clean, refreshed finish.

Botanical details introduce colour and personality, adding a subtle sense of playfulness without taking away from the room’s timeless feel.
